I was scouring the Histories of this sport just recently, and it gave me an idea for a pretty interesting opinion poll. I needed to allieviate my boredom, the cork was nearby, and it was this or argue with Deluthan more. Anyhow, we all know how many people in this Community love to talk about who will win upcoming challenge matches, and who will win TDL matchups, so the idea popped in my head: Who would win a TDL-style "team match" between the
Council of today and the Council of two years ago? Of course, I realize that several issues, including death, prevents this from ever happening. What I ask is that those who care to reply use their imagination, and analyze as if it were a TDL matchup.
This is merely an exercise of the mind and the ability to analyze dueling ability that I came up with in a pique of boredom, I wish no arguments to possibly erupt from it. Have fun with it.

I cant exactly correct you Drey, simply because I dont remember. But I have the inclination to think that the shut out you're talking about was our first duel when I'm pretty sure I beat you 5-1.
I'm also pretty confident that it was *you* who never beat *me*. Then again, when it comes to G'nort, out of the probably over 20 times I've dueled him, I've beaten him once. 5-1. And that was the moment when I retired the 13th. Figured I'd go out with a bang.

Overlord: Taylara Lockhorn Tyree vs. Dalamar Ar Daumon
My picks: This is just a mockery match. Not even set up for main event. Pound for Pound Dalamar is clearly the top shotter here. Not only is he a better duelists then the erractic Over"lady" but he delievers, consistently. He's also a better Overlord as a whole, and not just dueling-wise. Dalamar 5-(anything 2 or below) in 7, 8 or 9.

My picks: Magnus..you're a good friend, but there is no way I'd lose my money for you on this one. AJay is clearly the choice here. This man has never lost a challenge for the 2nd ring *even when it wasn't his!* I don't think he'd intend to start, no matter how good Magnus is. 5-2 or 5-3 in 10 or 11.
3rd Ring: Unagi Miyamoto vs. Evan Rush Rynth
My picks: Unagi, but not by much. Unagi is a tempered duelist and delievers under pressure, which is exactly what the sporadic, unpredictable elf will give him. Unagi duels on principle and for the moment, that's what his best defense against the furious, fast-paced Rynth would be. Unagi 5-4 in 11.
4th Ring: Karen Wilder vs. Zen Rising
My picks: The real question here would be if Zen actually came to the match. If he did, he'd have a good shot at winning. Karen is another untested Baroness, she's a good duelist..carrying her way through the WLT, but Zen's won many Tournaments in his day too..plus, he's been here and has delievered on almost every match with the 4th. I'd say 5-3 Zen in about 9.
5th Ring: Leonardo de Lorenzo vs. Morgan le Fay
My picks: Much of the same here. However, their styles contradict. Morgan (from what I've seen) is a tactician duelist, thinking out and acting on it. Leo (again, from what I've gathered) duels on guts and instinct..and it'd be interesting to see who wins. It'd be close but I'd go with the youngbloods on this one and say Leo would take it 5-4 in 12 rounds.
6th Ring: Jeffrey Oakenshield (Today) vs. Avery Shiv Blade (Yesterday)
My picks: This is the main event right here. You've got quite possibly the two biggest powerhouses in the DoS dueling. Jeff's actually taught Avery a little bit from what I gather, but would that help? Jeff is still a formidable uhh, dwarf..but he may even argue he isn't quite what he was back in the heyday. Avery's raw talent would prove better here and he'd win by 1 in either 5-4 or overtime in a very short period or a very long one.
7th Ring: Dustin Manjahcapery vs. General Perrinis Alabaster
My picks: Umm. I don't know much about Perri, except that I almost challenged him myself. Either way, this guy put down Adonai in a shutout (but lost to him as well) and held his own with Kalamere Ar'Din. He lost his first challenge, and Dustin hasn't been challenged. I honestly have no idea about this one, but I'll go with the General only because he won his challenge 5-0 and Dustin won 5-1. Don't even ask me about score or rounds.
8th Ring: Galin Taelca vs. Jeffrey Oakenshield (of yesterday)
My picks: Jeffrey would win this one. Galin is a solid duelist yes..but nothing stands to the dwarven Juggernaught. This guy has a more than positive record on 20+ challenge situations. Plus, two years ago he was about peaked until that Eros situation, but Galin would hold his own for awhile. 5-3 and 10 rounds later...Galin falls to Chaos.
9th Ring: Sartan vs. Lupton est Dracoern
My picks: Ouch. That's all I'd have to say. This would be the edge-of-the-seat match right here. Two accomplished duelers, both very good both way back when and now. I'd go with my instinct and pick Sartan for the win 5-4 in 16+ rounds.
10th Ring: Var Medici-Giovanni (Today) vs. Var Medici-Giovanni (Yesterday)
My picks: Var. One of two things will happen here. The old Var, who is better than the current Var at dueling will win, or the current Var will guess what the old Var will do and shut him out in 5. But who cares? Var sucks anyway..Next Match! : )
11th Ring: Lucian vs. Gimmzak Stonecutter
My picks: Lucian. 5-2 in 11. The reason? Gimmzak is another instinct dueler and Lucian is about everything combined. Plus..he just tore the roof off in the Tournament. It'd be a hard match, but Lucian would come out on top.
12th Ring: Ellisa Morgan vs. Roland Sal Roa
My picks: This would be another interesting match. I'd pick Ellisa though, her tenacity and Roland's would cancel each other out..but I think she has just that much more than him to carry her through. 5-3 in 9.
13th Ring: Drey Der'est Sanchez Starke Legend vs. Leo Caius Cassius Pride
My picks: The match of the long names. Drey has a big mouth. Apparently he put his foot in it this time, as Caius apparently proved him wrong. We'll see though. I'd say this would be interesting, but Drey would probably still put him away 5-3, just to save face. 8 rounds.
