The calling staff of the Duel of Swords would like to congratulate Var Medici-Giovanni for being awarded this week's "Duelist of the Week".

Var has received votes nearly every week since the inception of this award. However, he's never quite had enough to take the win. This week, voting went heavily in his favor. Var didn't duel at all in the Arena this weekend. However, his accomplishment in the Annex on Friday night could not be overlooked.

After two matches against Cassius Maximus, the Tenth Ring was back on Var's hand for the sixth time. The first match, Var took in a perfect duel. The second was a bit more closely matched but Var still dominated, taking a 5-3 victory in eight rounds.

In recognition for his outstanding dueling, Var's drinks for the up coming week will be on the house. Congratulations, Var!

Also nominated this week was Dalila, Deacon Black, and Keokuk. Xellos, a swordsman, was also mentioned for his 5-4 win over the overlord, Cletus Ganderfald, in fourteen rounds.

While I am appreciative of winning the duelist of the week, I feel I should clear the misconception that I didn't duel. I lost to Drey Thursday.

But hey, I'll take the nominations where I get them. Heh.

Yeah, I believe I went 4-1 beating Face, Var, and G'nort twice while losing to Cletus.

Have a nice day.

A cookie can be found taped next to Drey's post. It's of the slightly stale, pre-packaged chocolate chip variety.
