There be ta rub. For there be those that think rank be all there is ta skill - and I have heard yaself decry those that just pursue rank with no thought ta skill. If ya read through ta different thoughts here, there be one general agremement that I think ya should take heed ta: rank only speak ta one thing - ya rank.
It say nothing of ta duelist or even of a duelists skills. It just say that in front of an official that this particular duelist done won a certain amount of times. Ya can nae say the wins be an objective measurement - like timing a runner against ta clock. Time be equal for all comepetitors. But winning a duel just say one thing; ya bested somebody, of unmeasured capacity, in a ring in front of somebody who is counting it.
But I nae need ta tell ya that, and perhaps ya be done insulting me with mayhaps this small footnote to ya rankings. Ta first season I be an all-star in ta TDL ranked in ta top ten of ta league. I also be a Grand Master who stayed at one win under Warl Lord ta entire season. It be some kind o' a curse and a private joke between Me and me Jeff. It did nae matter who I dueled for tha' win, an' how many times I hae whupped 'em before. I just nae
seemed fated ta make it. I do nae think I am less skilled than I be then, but will admit perhaps a less avid attention to ta rings as me first days. So, ya go look at ya numbers, and make ya judegments on those around ya off them.

would gladly fight him just to prove that I'm not intimidated by his Pride or his assertions that he is correct no matter what anyone else says. You are correct in stating the existence of exceptions in regard to the records of warlords. I do not believe, however, that these exceptions amount to ownership. The rules and standards of the sport allow returning warlords to reclaim their records, but it should be noted that such a warlord who has vanished and returned must request the record be reinstated. This is a matter of curtesy to those who achieved the highest rank in the sport,
not a matter of ownership. Whether the record is reinstated is at that discretion of the staff who may, and have, refused such requests.
I would direct you to the case of Zen Rising. This duelist was a warlord some years ago and met with some fate or another that prevented him from returning to the arena in a timely manner. When he did manage to return a request was made to the proper authorities to have his record reinstated. That request was denied. It is only recently, some two plus years after the initial disappearance, that Zen has had the record replaced on the standings.
Surely the staff would not have such discretion and power over a thing that was the property of another.
Allow me also to address your commentary as to "common parlance." I am afraid that "abandonment" does not truly fit the matter at hand. In the discussion of abandonment, one can not dismiss the matter of intent. " In determining whether one has abandoned his property or rights, the intention is the first and paramount object of inquiry, for there can be no abandonment without the intention to abandon. " (Black's Law Dictionary, 6th
edition)
I am certain that I could direct you to any number of duelists who have gone on extended trips only to return and find their records wiped clean. I assure you that they never intended to give up those records. It is true that time is often considered to show circumstantial evidence of this intention, however the time frame is generally measured in years and decades, not mere months, and in any case, it is rebuttable. That being the case, upon
their return, these people would have a case against the staff for conversion, were it true that they had held ownership in the first place.

Jeff, please do try to act like a Baron should. I believe threatening commoners for words they did not say is not qualified as a decent Baron trait. I, for one, am growing tired of the upper ranks and vetrans not making good examples of themselves for the newer duelists . . . And this is the second action I have seen from you which disgraces both yourself and your rank.

I have seen two such examples from Jeff, and thereby decided to let him know of it before his attitude deteriorated further. It was my thought that Jeff had to be reminded of the Ring he wears and the burdens which come along with it, one of which is to be a good example to not only the newer duelists, but to every

As another note, I would have expected an apology to Aeolus from Jeff by now. Whether you think I am looking down upon him or not, the simple fact is Jeff was wrong in his written threats to Aeolus. That point cannot be disputed.
