How amusing Morgan, simply because I state that indeed I did understand her meaning you choose to term me slow witted. This, apparently you do not understand, is not a discussion of either intellgence or of grammer, metaphoric reasoning or methaphoric logic. I personally did not insult anyone as I have seen many do here. My statement was in regards to
the word "stole", Ally's word, not mine. I take exception to this term no matter who would have used it in this context. To name someone as a theif in a legitimately challenged, fought and won match is insulting to everyone's intellengence. Mayhaps ,dear Morgan, you should return to my original posting which asks
" is this what DoS has come to? Not honor, whatever one's definition may be, honing of skill, striving to be the best one can be in a very competitive and none too easy sport, not even to the politics that abound. But to squabblingFACE="Times New Roman" LANG="0">."
This is not a personal attack on you or anyone else Morgan, it is me taking exception to the charge of "stealing" which dishonors all involved directly in the match~ Lupton, Drey and Altara. And on a further note, just because someone disagrees does not mean they are slow witted or unlearned. It simply means they have the intellengence to think for themselves and hold a differing opinion. I would say, considering how many have taken exception to the
term "stolen" that I am not alone in my dislike of the insults and squabbling going on within DoS of late. With that final thought, I am withdrawing form a rather pointless discussion. I have had my say and made my point, as others have as well.

* = Might be considered an insult to some readers.
This is why I have locked myself into the Praxeum and focused on the (expertly ran and, besides a few Arena hatred slipping in, fun environment) League.
But I tell you what, if any one of my friends asked for my assistance in taking any one of you mudslinging, fanatically opinionated (to the point you can't say three sentences without spouting off about your likes and dislikes), post-Dalamar power mongers*, I'd agree in a heartbeat. No matter if all I had to use was a few connections and a loaded crossbow.
If you have an opinion or take offense to that; then you damn should because you obviously have personal issues that need to be settled. And if these issues just happen to be with me, well:
Roland Sal Roa
Tavern of Fury
212 Champion Lane
Champs District, RhyDin
I'll be there most of the day and there is a ring open for any issues that need settling. Write me, fight me, just don't insult me behind my back because one of my friends is bound to hear.
Good day and good fortunes,
Roland
PS: If you consider yourself a friend, feel free to drop by the Tavern anytime for a drink, my treat.

<< How sad to see subtlety and depth of meanings lost on the simple ones. >>
Alright, I guess I'm simple, if you say so. You would know, considering you've never spoken to me.
But, let's say you're right- which would be a first. What is the meaning of DoS? Is it some philosophical thing that a select few such as yourself are hiding from the public at large?
Of course, it's useless posting this, because every word you say about DoS having some hidden meaning other than trying to beat each other in the ring is absolute bologna. You'll probably reply to this saying something to the effect that 'I wouldn't understand because I'm an idiot', but everyone knows it's because you have no clue what you're talking about.
You insulted Drey's grammer and intelligence, now you're insulting mine. I beg of you, come up with original material some day soon.
Now, with that said, I'm washing my hands of this. I won't reply to any repetative but well constructed insult you address to me from the time I post this, nor will I speak to you in person unless I receive an apology for the unfounded accusations you made against my intelligence. An apology I seriously doubt will come.

"just because someone disagrees does not mean they are slow witted or unlearned."
I never said that. Do not put words in my mouth or twist what was said to make people feel sorry for you because mean ole Morgan called you on it. You are slow witted because even after it was pointed out to you that it was not necessarily a literal comment, you chose to continue arguing about it as if it was a literal comment rather than approach it from the metaphorical context that it was probably meant. Of course, if you did that,
you would not have a solid argument, would you? So you figured, why not straw man Ally's point and make yourself look good because you poked all these holes in it. And no, I am not going to explain that reference to you. Be a big girl and look it up for yourself. You will find it under "fallacious reasoning."
I, for one, am thankful you are withdrawing from the discussion. There is one less person to deal with who does not know what it is s/he is talking about.

Lovely to see that because someone voices their opinions, no matter how strong they are, that they are immediately called names and attacked. Then people think that attacking the person and not the argument is the way to get things across.
It makes me proud to be a member of this community.
And that is sarcasm for those of you that can't tell.

A few notes here;
Morgan, I am growing a bigger fan by the day m'lady, keep up the good work.
Percy, I could never respect someone I dislike.
Rix, take that one further, a person states their point well, as did Ally. Then everyone "attacks" her for making that point. A few friends of hers counter attack and become evil, for how dare they attack someone for posting their opinions. My mom used to say, "Thats the pot calling the kettle black", yet my mom was not as wise as most of these folk.
Simply,

A few people were attacking the way she has approached the matter, as well. When I say approach, I mean some of the comments I have previously referred to as immature.
If I made a remark about all the braindead people (Ally's followers), and how Ally just lacks grammatical skills and the ability to relay thoughts, then I am sure I would be torn apart, too.
::Written at the bottom of the paper::
Now while you all thought for a moment I was serious in that last paragraph, I was not. In fact, I respect many of the people who have spoken up for Ally. I simply thought it would give a better look as to how childish it sounds when it is Ally and/or those who would be offended by the last paragraph on the receiving end of what my main problems with her argument are. Just a little explanation as to why she was "attacked." At least, that's why
I spoke up.

Nova Grey Shadow laughed as he stared at the ream of paper sticking off the corkboard regarding the new holder of the Sixth.
"Oh, man ... some things never change," he said, as he lifted a few posts to see what's hidden beneath. He paused at one or two posts to utter the requisite "Ouch" or "Ooooo".
He made his way along the board, he paused at the Baronial Histories, and read over the bearers of the Sixth since Adeena Maeax last held it.
"I think I remember him," he said as he tapped at the first name.
"Sartan," as he tapped at the second.
"Who?" a tap at the third.
"Lupton," at the fourth.
"Who the ... ?" at the newest.
As he turned from the board, he scratched the back of his head.
"Well, looks like it's time for a comeback," he said as he walked away from the boards.
"Getting too old for this ... " could be heard as the door closed behind him, a possible expletive following him into the Red Dragon Inn and out onto the streets.

I do not recall ever talking or responding to you, Andrea Silverthorn. Do you often take personally what is said to other people? Until this day, I had not realized how illiterate you really were, so clearly, I could not insult you about it. But now that you have opened the door . . .

Ally,
You are not a big fan of myself, I know, but I think you are way out of line. Drey topped Lupton in the challenge match not even granting him the lead and your prejudiced efforts to make him look like a fool...suck. My eyes fall down upon you with only sickness. Your try to make him look so lame was valiant, but you failed... Sorry(To me atleast). You insult him with petty comments about grammar and the people that happen to support him. Slow
minded is your word. Reading over that word I grimace the fact that you can even write such a word when I look at you. Your friend lost and you stand in for him, for what? Lupton can handle himself without you babbling like the monkey you are and have always been. Your pointless efforts to make him look so horrible clearly in my mind make you look utterly ridiculous. My opinions may not matter to you, but I find you distasteless and absolutely
nonsensical. You're "full of sound and fury meaning nothing" (I think that's the way it goes). Cheers to you.
Drey,
You define skill quite well. I have never seen such finesse about the rings in a while. Lupton usually beats myself and when I finally beat him, he would stated he didn't feel very well at the time. There was no excuse there, ya kicked his arse. Do it again.

After reading through all the posts, he stopped to think.
He had a definite idea from the first time he read the original post that there was something beyond the words, because he knew from reading Ally's writings before that to simply write something with so many cheap shots wasn't like her. Then again, he didn't know her, so he couldn't be sure.
A slight smirk crossed his face as he thought, briefly, that the metaphor story was just something Ally and Morgan had made up to confuse everybody even further.
He had thought about possibly writing something on his thoughts about the subject. He decided, though, to follow the advice of a writer-- something he had heard long ago. He decided to keep his mouth shut and merely appear stupid.
He grinned slightly as he thought about this. The grin faded, however, when other thoughts came into his mind, and he began to worry about his friends again.
He headed away without writing anything.
