Simple Rix,
I would pray that the Loyal Baron tramples all over Methous as quick as possible. But hopefully his punishment will remain so that he will be unable to challenge for cycles to come.

So even though you have the power to make it much more difficult for people like Methous to gain a ring, you would not step in? You hold your own beliefs above the good of the Arena?
Intercession at times is not all bad. I hope you would reconsider should you be in power to stop someone who has or would disgrace the Arena.

>>I'm curious why none of the criticisms made now about the stance of non-intercession were made when Cristian de Oro declared he would not intercede for his barons, either.<<
>>Zen,
When Cristian took the title, everyone was busy either attacking or defending his record.<<
I'm sorry, Percy, but I need to correct you there.

Rix,
I still would not interceed. Still...intercession would not prevent Methous from holding a title...I could still lose to him. It would be better to try and convince all peers to not duel him, and in that way he could not gain the wins needed and could not challenge for a title. Of course, this would be hard, considering all the Warlords of the sport, but even if a lot stop dueling him, it would make it harder for him to gain the wins.

So basically you're saying you don't give a rats behind about the sport or community either; and you're just another selfish person with his own ideals which are all that matter to you?
Wow, I'm liking this guy more and more. Well, not a lot more.

"Some of us respected Cristian and his decisions."
I respected him too. I respect Magnus as well, which is why I can't figure out why when one man makes a decision it's well respected but when another makes the same decision it's criticized.

No Jesse,
That is not what I am saying at all. I am saying it is a sport which I do care about, and I do not want to fight the sport for any other person. I would think people would know that by now. I guess, though, that no matter what I say, you and many others will just find more arguements to bring against me.

This has got to be one of the funniest things I've read in a long time. People choose not to attack Cris for one policy, yet they attack Magnus' policy which is the same thing, but because they don't like him, the overlord as much?
I guess that makes people either cowards, suck-ups, or emotionally confused. After all, if the enforcement of such a policy is so important that they have to yap at Magnus like a French Poodle, it should be important enough simply inform Cristian that they disagree with him instead of nodding and saying "You're right."

Well, let's take a look at this as an argument.
1) When you care about something you make neccessary attempts prevent harm to said thing that you care about.
2) You claim to care about the community.
3) Methous being a baron seems (by popular opinion, and yours I think) to be a detriment to the community..
4) Therefore, you should want to do something that will help to prevent Methous from becoming a baron. i.e. intercede against him.
Gee, that seems pretty clear to me. Wonder why it's so hard for you to get. Don't get me wrong, I don't give a damn if you use intercession or not. Just don't pretend you're doing it because you're such a good guy. You're just as selfish as anybody else. Make that everybody else.

Interesting.
I was not aware of Cristian's declaration to not ever use the Right of Intersession. Were I, I'm sure I would've told him that I thought such a stance was wrong.
My problem with Cristian was his disrespectful rush to challenge for the Crown so soon after the Overlord had successfully defended it... not once, but multiple times.
As for Feadur... this situation is nothing like his. Magnus is not declaring all his Barons to be Renegade.
The very act of accepting Loyalty requires, in an honorable man, the reciprication of that Loyalty. By what I read of the Histories and learned from those I have spoken with, Feadur knew he would not reciprocate the Loyalty of those who were Barons, so he refused to accept their Loyalty.
In closing... someone mentioned that Gwenivere fell in love with Lancelot, though she was married to Arthur.
This had little to do with the fact that Lancelot went into battle all the time, but more to do with the fact that, just as my soul knew Jhess' from the moment we met, Gwenivere and Lancelot's souls knew each other.
Of course, as my Father would say, the fact that Arthur was nearly thrice Gwenivere's age when they married might have had something to do with it as well.

I have another question. If some highly respected dueler (G, for example), chose to crush a ring, would he not face the same anger as Meth did?
I'm just curious. Wondering how easily people's opinions are swayed by the person, and not the opinion/action. I have a feeling I'll be amused by the reactions.
Of course, I don't think G would crush the ring. Knowing him, he couldn't crush an egg with a sledgehammer, but G knows I still like him. That's not the point, though.

Perhaps you should have spoken with more people. There is, after all, one of your acquaintance who immediately announced Loyal status upon Feamegil's victory, and was then realigned; he had occasion to speak to the Moriquendi after that realignment, and his willingness and/or inability to "reciprocate [that] Loyalty" was not an issue.
It was, in fact, a desire to face constant challenge, and drive the Barons to do so, which caused his decision. "Keeping" his title held no meaning for Feadur Feamegil; he wanted to fight for it, regardless of the opponent, and regardless of how often he had to do it. That is why his first challenge was processed and completed so rapidly... in order to allow the next challenger the quickest opportunity.

Ian Rex,
Baron of the Eighth, at that time.

I don't think I'd face the same anger, because I, at many points in my life and career, have already shown how much this place means to me, and that I respect and honor it.
I would face similar anger. Not the same. And likely receive some sort of heavy punishment, which I'd expect. But then, there would likely be those who thought I had some sort of mental breakdown, or was possessed or some such.
