Simply put, there's a reason.

Drake said she wouldn't say anything for two days publicly about it to Aspen. But She did not make me swear such an oath, so I felt obligated to bring it up.

And if whomever spoke this wasn't serious, then they made my best friend quite upset, which is something I really do dislike. Or have you never felt like defending a friend?

No, I don't expect the coward to come forward. However, Aspen also told me he heard this from his "sword."

I'm done with that, cause that was just stupid. Anyway, Aspen apologized publicly.

If the person who said it was just kidding, he/she would have felt comfortable coming up and admitting it by now. Now that they know that there's a bunch of patrons willing to beat them around for making accusations, they're sticking their foot in their mouth.

Tacks a note to the cork.

Gentles,

Tis nothin' like havin' a lackwit like Aspen spoutin' off such a comment, bu' then t' claim 'e might e'en consider th' one wh' hae made th' comment ast bein' jokin' further reveals Aspen's utter lack 'o intelligence. Tis nae annathin' in th' last bit 'umorous in such a slander. Ah am nae fond 'o Madame Silvertree, nor do Ah believe she hae shown good judgement in manna matters, yet th' slur cast 'pon 'er by such ast Aspen, for tis 'e wh' didst cast
th' slur e'en were it second hand, dost indeed give me further pause, if th' be possible, knowin' such a lowlife ast 'e wouldst deign t' raise 'is sights t' a Baron's Ring. Th' current 'older 'o th' Sixth Ring so far exceeds in stature, 'onor an' 'onesty, th' challenger, Aspen, tis much like th' comparin' th' 'eavens t' th' lowest beast wh' crawls under th' soil.

In ire and disgust,

Everyone,

If you think about it..does Aspen actually have any friends that know anything about the history of the sport? Given the fact that he asked Cassius how much he paid for the Sixth, and how he told G his "sword" told him that about Drake..I find this "mystery guest accuser" harder and harder to believe even exists..

Daelin,

Actually, it does exist. I saw Aspen and something under the bar conversing the other night. I think it was a small roach, but nonetheless, it does exist.

Aspen is talking to cockroaches now? Who does he think he is? Max? Sheesh.

This whole thing sounds like a misunderstanding. If someone really did make these accusations I would think it only natural for Aspen to go straight to Drake and ask. He may have worded his question badly. From what I seen in this post it would seem to be the case. Furthermore, I have never seen Aspen intentionally wrong another unless it was in direct retaliation to a harsh action or word. I beleive him to mean well
but.... Well let's just put it this way I beleive he is missunderstood. As for friends he may call me a friend I also have been around long enough to know some of the history. I know a lot of ye shall pound me to the dirt for it. I would never accuse Drake or even joke about it so if yer thinkin I am the one look elsewhere. I couldn't just sit idle and see one who is so misunderstood be publicly ridiculed and harrassed this way without stating my
feelings. And as for Aspen. Try and think about what you mean then use the right wording next time.

Zam,

I believe I understand Aspen fairly well, having witnessed his behavior and having seen him acocunt for himself. He is vindictive, inflexible, very impulsive, and not very clear headed. He also is very fond of the excuse when he goes too far. So far, I would also say that he isn't quite bright.
This is not to say that he couldn't turn into quite a good chap if he made the effort, if a trifle slow. It is merely to say that he is not one now. Nor will he be one if continues his present course of behavior.

Let's see... there was the time at the warlord's tournament he started swearing at everyone because the tournament went on too late for his liking.

There are other instances I'm sure, but this one stands out most readily in my mind.

You know, Zam, if my memory serves correctly (and it may not), I remember you saying much the same thing about Methous, claiming he was misunderstood and such as well. While I don't believe Aspen is on quite that same level, I hardly think that he is simply some misunderstood kid who takes a lot of undeserved heat.

What about the time, just recently in fact, that he mooned the callers... while he was in the ring and supposedly dueling. An insult to caller and opponent both.
