She took up the quill, paused a moment to pen the note then tacked it to the cork.
Ian,
Had the incidents to which I make reference occured within the confines of the ring amidst a duel, I would pay little if any heed. They did nae. The incidents took place while, heavy with child, I sat at the bar.
As for thine understanding that I do nae have it within me to forgive a slight, much less a major one, Ian, thou art in error. However, there are certain things that cannot be overlooked or considered as, to use your word, slights. Forgiveness may come in due time from the deity. It has nae been asked of me.
Assuredly I -do- well know that you do nae agree that nae holding title is nae a rationale for nae being able to have an opinion. Perforce, while both my self and Jeffrey have castigated Madame Elgarette, neither of us has done so for simply stating hers. If thee choose to nae find Madame's comments hypocritical, assuredly thee will nae. However, Ian, Madame does -pick and choose- her targets.
As do thee Ian, I can and do accept absence from the rings without qualm. Indeed, absence from the community is certes a separate issue, however mine analogy is nae flawed Ian.
I shall refer thee to the incident wherein the then Baron Zen Rising, during the reign of Dalamar and while the Council was called into session to adjudicate the matter of Dalamar's failure to arrive on time to meet Huma Dragonbane' challenge, vanished not only from the rings but from the realms. Madame made no comment upon the matter. Yet Madame rounded on the Overlord, Long Wang Lo most stridently.
Thee may consider mine analogy flawed, Ian, however, it was most assuredly accurate with respect to Madame contentions with regard to her comments about absences.
I spoke with the former Overlord Magnus Eques last eve in an effort to more clearly understand his reasons for his behavior. He seemed to feel that people merely were looking for flaws and seemed to hold that his behavior should be of concern to no one; this as well as he spoke of his acceptance of the flawed challenge from the warlord Goldie. He expressed that he was nae pleased with the fact that the bona fides were nae properly presented, yet he
chose to meet the warlord rather than press the issue. If'n thee hae an interest in Madame Elgarette's comments upon that matter, I believe they yet be extant on the cork.
T'was Magnus made it very clear he held little regard for Long Wang Lo. For in that Magnus Eques had -not- exhibited such a lack of simple courtesy during his previous challenges, certes his behavior after that match wouldst draw notice.
Jeffrey most assuredly knows, as should thee, that mine concerns and feelings in these matters dinna waver. Such canna be said of Madame Elgarette. There in lies the hypocrisy, Ian.
Regards,
Jonalyn Regina

Jonalyn:
I will point out one thing - and that is that I have made -no- comment regarding Sidartha's choice of targets.
That said, if one feels her picking and choosing of targets is improper, one should not do so themselves; if one sees no problem with doing themselves, then one should not cry hypocrisy when another does it. Note that I have not accused you of such wavering; our discussion, for the most part, has centered upon your response to my response to Jeffrey.
Simply put, and I repeat myself unnecessarily, I believe, if Jeffrey has issue with Sidartha choosing targets, he should not do the same; in berating Sidartha for expressing her opinion on a matter she "wouldn't know anything about, never having held title," then he must, if he has a problem with Sidartha choosing targets, say the same to you.
It's beyond me how this logic seems so hard to grasp.
Regards,
Ian Rex.

I even acknowledge my opponents before and after the match. Of course now, I just bow to them and the official, and that's about it, but I still recognize my comrades of the rings with a minium of dueling respect.

I do so like your new style of language as penned in your note to Ian Rex.
Nicely written, a much easier style to read. My compliments.

What makes one worthy is how they present themselves to others. How they treat others. How respectful they are to others. Not how many matches you've won or how many WoL you have.
*G*
Exactly the reason superior duelers like myself will always take the back seat to inferior duelers when it comes to the hearts and minds of the locust like populace at large.
I suppose that according to Gnort, I never have been nor will I ever be, worthy to hold a higher ranked title....
Even though I'm better than %99.9 of the duelers that have ever stepped foot in this sport.
What a load of crap.

Hey you tree hugging snapper head, if you'll notice the fact that that first sentence is signed with a *G*, maybe your weed choked brain will process the fact that it was something that Gnort said, not myself. If you aren't smart enough to realize that my name doesn't begin, end or even HAVE a "G" in it, then they fact that me telling you to screw yourself will have little meaning.
As for how I talk to a lady....should I start with a few choice comments on yours?
Didn't think so. Just shut your mouth and know your role you pissant.

A simple question, which I will invite everyone to try and answer...
When a six year veteran of the dueling rings and a reigning Baron comes to the cork and says something like this, what kind of message is spread to newcomers, you think?

That if you were single, even you, Cas, wouldn't have much trouble trying to get a date for a one night stand.

I woul say it is rather simple. Ecore, over the course of his career, has been hit in the head one or two too many times. Either that or he is just so burned out and cynical that he doesn't care about much of anything anymore. I could be wrong, but I would say he has a feeling that he has been thwarted and is trying to compensate for some sort of inferiority complex as a result. Of course, I am just guessing.
