Some people are just that way.
I know three women and five men who all have the name Drake... but I'm not expected to live up to their legacies.
My middle name, Anastasia, comes from my Father's grandmother... but I'm not expected to live up to her legacy either.
For some, it does not matter what this child's name is... they will find a way to cast insult upon the child and his parents.
For others, it does not matter who's child was given the name Dalamar... they will force that child to live up to a name, rather than let that child live as a person unto themselves.
A name does not make you who you are. What you do and what's inside you... that's what makes you who you are.

A new life passes onto this plane, and no sooner does it emerge from the maternal crush than fault is found with the creature, particularly because of a name it had no part in choosing. Please, do continue to be so petty. It will only serve to crush what rare grains of guilt I may feel at your ultimate subjugation and/or destruction.
On a side note, Lady Starfare, I am curious as to why your accent seems to translate to your writings. I will of course entertain other explanations, but my personal theory is that you are illiterate, and the soul whom you dictate your missives is too dim of wit or lazy to translate your ramblings into a non-barbaric accent.
But I think that's all of eternity that I'm gonna spend pondering that.

A name is a special legacy, it can be a tribute to a beloved friend or ancestor. It can be the name of a famous inventor, writer, teacher, that has made a positive impression upon the parents.
Belittling the value of a name is certainly not the angle to be taken if someone has offended your sensitivities.
I will assume you spoke only of first names, for I will presume that someone would not go so far as to slander the precious legacy of ones' lineage.

Belittling the value of a name is certainly not the angle to be taken if someone has offended your sensitivities.

It is positively not my intention to belittle the value of a name. My intent is to show that the child has no need to "live up to" a legacy of someone else. The value of a name depends on the person that has it. Consider this. Two people may be named - Jade, for instance. One may be sweet and kind, the other with a hideous personality. What I am saying is that neither should be restricted to live in the shadow of the other's
