M'Lord Adonai.

There is not one inch of humility in you, is there? Not one part that will say, "You know, perhaps I -could- be accused of bragging in this case."
My comments were not just directed at your postings, but at what I have heard from others concerning this duel.
Yes, the Lady Ellisa has always been honorable and has always dealt with her opponents and friends in just such a fashion... but have you? I found your parade of statistics to be an exersize in self-aggrandizement, but I thought I would find a nicer way of saying it than that.
I can see why you would take exception to my words, but there are better ways of saying so, don't you think?
I respect your skill as a dueler... I respect your record in defending your ring... I even respect your right to be proud of holding that ring... but I find that your words are, at times, terribly ill-chosen in regards to the feelings of those around you.

Stated in Honor....

Drake,

It can be viewed as braggadocio....but that was not its intent nor its true tone or meaning. And it seems that oft times people will percieve things as they wish to percieve them. Such as my perception of your downgrading of my defense and your constant *friendIy repartee* about taking my ring, or someone elses ring. Pardon me if I find that to be a tad chafesome when I am in constant defense of my position for gods know why. I have
defended this ring successfully 3 times now, and not merely by a one point margin. I believe I have more than asserted my right to wear it and my ability to defend it if need be. There are presently nine Barons, and soon to be thirteen.....you would think there would be ample other people to challenge. That in no way means I do not like the challenges...but see how you would feel when your facing down 4 challenges in 3 months time when you sit among
those that have yet to defend the rings they have worn for months now.....makes one think that mayhaps his skill is in question, or mayhaps his friends aren't his friends, or hell, makes one think many things.
I merely became curious when Roland brought up the point of records and took it upon my self to further investigate such. No one else was going to do so, so I felt that in the interest of history I would check it myself. I also many times stated that my information could be incorrect due to the amount of history I have to work with. I was in no way rubbing Ellisa's nose in it nor downgrading her skill as a dueler. Ellisa has always been
an excellent duelist. But in case some people haven't notice....I can be rather skillful at times too.....and that day.....the field was mine.
So pardon me if my tone was acidic....I have many reasons for it. And like anyone...I am allowed these thoughts and feelings.

Baron Uziel.

Having read your reply, I find that there actually is a modicum of humility in you, and I am gladdened without measure.
I am sorry if you have taken poorly my comments about taking your ring... to be strictly honest, I had, at one time, considered doing just that. But, since that time, you have shown without fail that you are more than skilled enough to hold your ring. And, more importantly to my eyes, you have shown that you have the -honor- and the -respect- to hold your ring. I find myself realizing thatI have taken upon myself the personal responsibility
of seeing if, in -my- mind, any particular Baron is holding to a standard of Honor and Morality which I can respect. Some may say that it is not my place to do such, but I will continue to do such. I have no real need to challenge for a Baron's ring... no strong desire to see one upon my finger. My loyalty is to The Duel of Swords first, and upholding the honor and respect that should be both shown and displayed here-in.
Again, Baron Uziel, a fine win.

::Blinks::: Wow...

Adonai...did you say "distant" past? Sheesh....

I'd hardly call Halo's loss of her ring to Dalamar "Distant" past...where have you been, anyway? Damn, thought you were old, Adonai?

Well Gnim,

That was a lost defense. I was merely speculating on successful Baronial defenses.
